Formulation and Estimation of Rapidly Dissolving Sublingual Thin Film of Vildagliptin

The purpose of the present research was to develop a fast and rapidly dissolving polymeric sublingual thin film vildagliptin due its simplicity use as an alternative oral disintegrating tablets better compliance for diabetic patients. Nine different formulations (F1-F9) films were produced using diverse concentrations polymer A plasticizer B by solvent casting method. Several physicochemical properties, including morphological weight variation test, thickness, folding endurance, surface pH, percentage moisture loss, in-vitro disintegration dissolution trinocular microscopic imaging film, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), FTIR study content uniformity evaluated. ratios A-plasticizer follows (5:1), (7:1), (7.67:1), (8:1), (8.5:1), (8.67:1, (9.67:1), (10:1), (11:1) which made smooth, mechanically strong easy peel out. Among all formulations, F1 formulation showed most significant result concerning (98.95%) in 5 minutes, minimum time (38 sec.), less thickness (116.67 ± .58 μm) endurance (403 times).
